Los 29 años de existencia del Festival de Cine de Medina del Campo son motivo importante para detenernos y plantear una reflexión sobre la tarea que ha realizado el equipo que organiza dicho certamen.
Mediante el texto dedicado a la Semana de Cine de Medina del Campo pretendemos conocer sus orígenes e incluso profundizar en su evolución y desarrollo, ahondando en su historia. Asimismo, nos centráremos y abordaremos el trabajo llevado a cabo durante la primera década del siglo XXI e intentaremos proporcionar una perspectiva del festival mostrando su consagración como referente de la cinematografía emergente de nuestro país, profundizando en la relevancia social y cultural que ha adquirido.
La idea rectora se asienta en el intento de dar a conocer la trascendencia del certamen a nivel nacional y con ello el descubrimiento o acercamiento por parte del espectador. Paralelamente pretendemos manifestar el apoyo e implicación activa por la que el Festival de Cine de Medina del Campo ha apelado, y continúa apelando, hacía el universo del formato corto cinematográfico. Finalmente pondremos en relieve una de las características principales de la Semana de Cine de Medina: el hecho de tener en cuenta los valores sociales, e involucrarse con estos, cuya huella indeleble permanece en las temáticas y contenidos de las obras seleccionadas y proyectadas, año tras año.

The 29 years of the Film Festival Medina del Campo are an important reason to stop and raise a reflection on the work done by the team that organized this contest.
By the text dedicated to the Film Week Medina del Campo, we pretend to know their origins and even deepen their evolution and development, delving into its history. We also focus and address work carried out during the first decade of the century and we´ll try to provide a perspective of the festival showing his consecration as a reference for the emerging cinema of our country, deepening the social and cultural relevance it has acquired.
The guiding idea is based on the attempt to raise awareness of the contest to a national level and thus the discovery or approach by the viewer. In parallel we intend to express the support and active involvement by the Film Festival Medina del Campo has appealed, and continues to appeal, to the universe of short film format. Finally we'll highlight one of the main features of the Film Week Medina: the fact of taking into account social values, and engage with these, whose indelible mark remains on the themes and contents of the selected and projected works, year after year
