La teoría de los conceptos umbral, desde la perspectiva de este artículo, sostiene que existen determinados conceptos clave que un estudiante debe superar para poder transformarse en profesional. La comprensión de estos es lo que le hace adquirir mayores conocimientos de la disciplina y crear una integridad profesional, mejorando su práctica. Dado que se ha estudiado en otras disciplinas pero no en la Terapia Ocupacional, el análisis de este documento puede ayudar a sentar unas bases en cuanto a desarrollar más esta teoría en la disciplina.

The threshold concept theory argues that, from the perspective of this article, there are certain key concepts that a student must overcome in order to become a professional. Understanding them is what makes them gain more knowledge of the discipline and create a professional integrity, improving their practice. As has been studied in other disciplines but not in Occupational Therapy, the review of this document can help to think of another perspective to develop this theory in the discipline.
