    El mestizaje en estudiantes universitarios, en relación con los grupos indígenas, se presenta como un espacio de privilegio, inserto en jerarquías de poder que están determinadas por la cercanía o lejanía de la blanquedad. Para los estudiantes, lo mestizo aparece como lo “normal” o como el sujeto verdadero de la historia mexicana, asociado a ciertas características físicas. Este espacio de privilegio se torna maleable o flexible cuando ya no es posible distinguir dónde termina lo mestizo y dónde empieza lo indígena. Bajo este supuesto, el artículo desarrolla un análisis expuesto en tres fases, que intenta responder quiénes son esos estudiantes mestizos que se diferencian de lo indígena

    The mestizaje of university students, in relation to the indigenous groups or persons, is seen by our society as a place of privilege, inserted in power hierarchies determined by the closeness or the distance from whiteness. For the students, the mestizo, associated with certain physical characteristics, appears as the “normal” or the true subject of Mexican history. Nevertheless, this privileged space becomes malleable or flexible when the border between the mestizo ends and the indigenous begins is no longer clear. Under this assumption, the article develops, in three phases, an analysis that attempts to answer who is this mestizo student and how he or she differs from the indigenous.
