La palabra grund, en alemán, tiene que ver con el suelo nutricio, con el fundamento. La vida social, del sujeto individual y colectivo, tiene un grund, base de nuestras acciones, suelo sobre el cual se apoya su porvenir. En este trabajo presentamos el hombre, varón y mujer, yanomami en su grund, en su suelo, en el que se reconoce a sí mismo y al semejante. Esta cultura, desde su imaginario diríamos también, se arraiga en su grund, y en él se apoya conscientemente o no. Este arraigo les ha permitido a los miembros de la comunidad yanomami, entre otras cosas, sobrevivir, perdurar en el tiempo. Sus mitos fundadores conforman y soportan la empatía comunitaria que les permite, de algún modo, sentir cierta confianza en lo que son. Finalmente, puede decirse que el texto es un ejercicio de historia oral.

The word grund in german has to do with the nutritive ground, with the land. The social life from the individual and collective subject has its grund, bases of our actions, ground over which their future is supported. In this work we present the man kind, man and woman; the Yanomami in their grund, in their ground in which he recognizes himself and the others. We would also say that this culture from its imaginary is rooted in its grund, and in it is supported, consciously or not. This root have allowed to the members of yanomami community, among other things, to survive and to last in time. Their foundational myths conform and support the communitarian empathy that allows them somehow to feel certain trust in what they are. Finally, it can be said that the text is an exercise of oral history.
