El interés de Julián Marías por el ser humano aparece desde sus obras más tempranas, pero su conceptualización de esta realidad sufre una evolución compleja. Inicialmente es pensado a través de los conceptos de vida humana (Ortega) y, después, de vida humana y hombre, un período que concluye magistralmente con Antropología metafísica (1970). Solo a partir de entondes la persona se convierte en la categoría central de su antropología, una posición totalmente explícita en textos como Mapa del mundo personal (1993) y Persona (1996). Esta nueva perspectiva, más ontológica, permitirá a Marías sacar fruto de algunas intuiciones previas, proponiendo, por ejemplo, con fuerza y originalidad la idea de lo personal, el elemento nuclear de la persona, aunque distinto de ella, que podría identificarse con el quién.
The interest of Julián Marías by the human person is shown from his earliest works, but their conceptualization of this reality undergoes a complex evolution. Initially it is thought through the concepts of human life (Ortega) and then human life and man, a period that concludes masterfully with Metaphysical Anthropology (1970). Only thereafter the person becomes the central category of his anthropology, a position that becomes fully explicit in texts such as Mapa del mundo personal (1993) and Persona (1996). This new perspective, more ontological, allows Marías take fruit of some previous intuitions, proposing, for example, with strength and originality, the idea of the “personal” as the core element of the person, although different from it, who could be identified with the who.
