Los cambios que se han producido en Turquía en los últimos años han venido de la mano del partido islamista AKP, lo que también ha afectado a la política exterior turca, que se encamina hacia un desarrollo "neo-otomanista" y a tratar de mantener un estado de calma frente a sus vecinos. Esto, junto a la aparición del EI/DAESH, las relaciones con la Unión Europea y la pertenencia de Turquía a la OTAN,constituye la posición del país en el panorama internacional.

The changes that have taken place in Turkey in the last years have come from the hand of the islamist party AKP, which also has concerned the exterior Turkish politics, which intends towards a development ottoman and to trying to support a condition of calmness opposite to his neighbors. This, close to the appearance of the IS/DAESH, the relations with the European Union and the belonging of Turkey to the NATO, constitutes the position of the country in the international view.
