    The aim of this article is to analyse the song Luz do Sol, composed by Caetano Veloso, in order to check its supposed iconic character. The iconizing effect of this song seems to be evident in the melodic treatment given to the lyrics, understood even in a unworried, but not only this. The lexeme luz (light) seems to occupy a prominent position in the whole song, representing a role of iconizing center under several aspects: syntactic, semantic, strophic, phonic and tonal. We promote a minudent anlysis of this song, examining its lyrics, syntactically, semantically, the strophic structure, the lexical selection, the phonic composition and the tonal order.

    O propósito deste artigo é analisar a canção Luz do sol, de Caetano Veloso, para verificar o seu suposto caráter icônico. O efeito iconizante desse texto parece já se evidenciar no tratamento melódico dedicado à letra, apreensível mesmo numa escuta despreocupada, mas não só. O lexema luz, por exemplo, aparentaexercer papel de destaque em toda a composição, figurando como seu centro iconizante sob vários aspectos: sintático, semântico, estrófico, fônico e tonal. Promovemos aqui, então, uma análise minudente dessa canção, examinando-lhe a letra, sintática e semanticamente, a estruturação estrófica, a seleção lexical, a composição fônica e a ordenação tonal, para averiguar o grau de investimento em sua arquitetura iconizante.
