O texto e seus entornos: a geração do sentido e os níveis de pertinência na proposta de Jacques Fontanille

    Among the new proposals of the semiotic theory, there is one by Jacques Fontanille that proposes the integration of the semiotic situation in the pertinence levels of analysis of texts. His idea is interesting as it allows formalizing what was considered, for a long time, an extrapolation of the text or violation of the immanence principle. This way, to explain and to have a better understanding of the specificities of the analysis process proposed by the French semiotician, as well as the contributions that he brings to the semiotics, we have chosen to analyze a photograph of press linked to a news piece published by an electronic media. The purpose is to show how the semiotics situation allows the text-object to work according to the rules of his own genre, regulating its interaction with the process and the uses of the potentials enunciatee, their expectations and their modal and passion competences. The objective of this work is, therefore, to show the validity and efficiency of the theoretical instrument proposed for the analysis of the texts, verbal and non verbal, as well as the gains to the theory when we extend its reach to the level of manifestation.

    Levando em conta o interesse cada vez maior dos semioticistas por outros objetos semióticos que não apenas o verbal, reavaliar certos dogmas da teoria torna-se necessário. Entre as novas propostas que a partir daí surgem, está a de Jacques Fontanille, que propõe a integração da situação semiótica ao campo de pertinência da análise dos textos. Sua ideia interessa na medida em que permite formalizar semioticamente o que se considerou, por muito tempo, como extrapolação do texto ou violação do princípio de imanência. Para explicitar e melhor compreender as especificidades do percurso de análise proposto pelo teórico francês, bem como as contribuições que ele traz à teoria semiótica, escolheu-se analisar uma fotografia de imprensa vinculada a uma notícia divulgada pela mídia eletrônica. A intenção é mostrar como o conjunto da situação semiótica permite ao texto-objeto funcionar segundo as regras de seu próprio gênero, regulando sua interação com os percursos e os usos dos enunciatários potenciais, suas expectativas e suas competências modais e passionais. O objetivo desse trabalho é, portanto, mostrar a validade e eficiência do instrumental proposto por Jacques Fontanille para a análise dos textos verbais e não-verbais, bem como os ganhos da teoria ao estender sua preocupação ao nível da manifestação, respeitando, todavia, o princípio de imanência.
