  • This paper focuses on the echo in Vergil�s Eclogues, which is a significant feature of Vergilian pastoral poetry. More specifically, its aim is to consider not only the physical phenomenon of the echo but also its multiple aspects. In that sense, it suggests that the echo in the Eclogues can be considered as a physical phenomenon, as a literary metaphor and as a textual-echo effect, trying also to explain the role and function of each category, both where it appears and in relation to the whole collection.
