Abstract: This paper analyzed the impacts of the sector fund CT AGROBUSINESS and of infrastructure investments over the growyh of agricultural productivity in Brazilian states. The results indicate that the effect of each investment depends on the degree of closeness to the technological frontier. This suggests that a well coordinated policy must distribute investments differently depending on the stage of development of each economy. In states farther removed, the need for infrastructure investments is relatively higher compared to expenses with ST & I. The absence of this understanding can lead to an unbalanced policy with costs for convergence.

Resumo: Este trabalho analisa os impactos do fundo setorial CT-AGRONEGÓCIO e dos investimentos em infraestrutura no crescimento da produtividade agrícola dos Estados brasileiros. Os resultados apontam que o efeito de cada investimento depende do grau de proximidade com a fronteira tecnológica. Isso sugere que uma política bem coordenada precisa distribuir os investimentos de forma diferenciada conforme o estágio de desenvolvimento de cada economia. Nos Estados mais afastados, as necessidades de investimentos em infraestrutura são relativamente maiores em relação aos gastos de C,T&I. A ausência dessa compreensão pode conduzir a uma política desequilibrada com custos para a convergência.
