En este articulo la autora quiere mostrar cómo, a través del estudio de la mística (verdadera “ciencia experimental”), Certeau supera los intereses o las problemáticas típicas de la historia religiosa.
Analizando (siguiendo la enseñanza de Lacan) el modus loquendi místico, Certeau restituye al mismo tiempo una reflexión radical sobre la escritura de la historia y un retrato de la modernidad y del sujeto moderno en su relación con el poder; un sujeto dividido esencialmente, en su constitución, entre la institución que lo autoriza (con su discurso sobre la verdad) y su intento de sabotearla.

In this article the author intends to show how, through the study of mysticism, Certeau goes beyond the interests and problems of religious history. Analyzing (following Lacan’s teaching) the mystical modus loquendi, Certeau offers a radical reflection on the writing of history and a portrait of modernity and of the modern subject in relation to power; a subject essentially, constitutively divided, between the Institution (the guardian of the true discourse) that authorizes him and his attempt to sabotage the Institution itself.
