We could say that it is unreasonable to rule out the possibility that Plato knew what he was doing in presenting himself esoterically as a myth teller. He counted on the precedent of Homer but, despite his admiration, he disagreed with him about the capital issue which, in the Republic, is resolved in two parts: the idea of good, on which a representative silence is kept, and the myth of Er. Did Heidegger present himself to the reader as a myth teller? What is his purpose? Who is able to respond to whom?
