Resumen de Museos y colecciones de arte de Asia Oriental desaparecidos en España

  Los últimos estudios hablan de cómo la moda del japonismo barrió también nuestro país a finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, pero para que dicha moda fuera una realidad resultaba imprescindible que al margen de los productos de bazar que pudieran venderse en las tiendas, gentes con una elevada preocupación cultural, seleccionara y reuniera piezas chinas y japonesas de una mayor calidad. Algunas de esas colecciones reunidas entonces, y desaparecidas hoy, nos hicieron pensar, hasta hace unos años, que no hubo coleccionistas de arte de Asia Oriental en nuestro país, pero no fue así. Este trabajo pretende rescatar de la inexistencia a algunos de ellos.

  Recent studies have shown that the fashion for all things Japanese also swept Spain in the second half of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. But it was essential for the existence of this fashion that, apart from the availability of bazaar goods, people with a high level of cultural concern should be able to select and gather Japanese and Chinese pieces of considerable quality. Until some years ago we thought there were no Oriental Asian art collections in our country because many of them, gathered at that time, had disappeared. But it was not so. This research intends to rescue some of them from the void.
