  This article seeks to showcase the oral aesthetics deployed by the poet Abdellatif Laâbi. It is not possible to address the work of the poet by focusing only on the content he tackles or the position he takes within Morocco’s social debates. Laâbi has forged a twofold textual type of writing, where orality has a preponderant role. In Laâbi’s work, the writt en French, for which the Latin alphabet is used, is molded through orality. That means that each French word, said out loud, is going to create another word that provides the sonorous image of the Arabic language. Thus, there are two overlapping texts: a written one and an oral one; whatever is said in French will be heard in Arabic. It is the projection of orality onto graphical symbols and vice versa that either makes for confronted or reconciled meanings. As a result, this strategy concerns not only the words, but ends up mixing and doubling the text at all levels: characters, places, and situations, to the extent where it becomes legitimate to consider Laâbi’s poetry and fiction as fantastic literature.   Cette étude s’attache à mettre en valeur l’esthétique verbale du poète Abdellatif Laâbi. On ne peut aborder l’œuvre du poète par la seule thématique qu’il traite ou par ses positionnements dans le débat sociétal. Laâbi a forgé une écriture double armature textuelle où l’oralité trouve une place prépondérante. Le texte écrit en français, avec une graphie latine, se trouve travaillé chez Laâbi par l’oralité. C’est-à-dire que le mot français, dit à haute voix, va générer un autre mot qui fournit l’image sonore de la langue arabe. Il s’agit de deux textes superposés; l’un écrit, l’autre oral: ce qu’on dit en français sera entendu en arabe. C’est la projection de l’oralité sur la graphie et viceversa qui vient confronter les sens ou les réconcilier. Il en ressort que cette stratégie ne touche pas uniquement le mot, mais va jusqu’à fusionner et dédoubler le texte à tous les niveaux: personnages, lieux, situations, au point qu’il devient légitime d’insérer la poésie et les récits romanesques de Laâbi, dans la littérature fantastique.
