Resumen de El comercio de tejidos al por menor en la ciudad de Murcia al inicio de la Guerra de los Nueve Años: Análisis de una coyuntura internacional

  Lo que se pretende con este trabajo es contribuir, aunque con alcance limitado, a la reconstrucción de la realidad económica y empresarial de la ciudad de Murcia durante la segunda mitad del siglo XVII. Para llevar a cabo esta investigación se ha utilizado una fuente inédita, las visitas realizadas en 1691 y 1692 por el juez de contrabando Antonio de Torres Prieto a los establecimientos comerciales de la ciudad y el registro de las mercancías consignadas a sus mercaderes en la aduana de Murcia. A través de estos materiales se ha podido analizar el comercio minorista de manufacturas textiles, con especial incidencia en su volumen, su tipología y su procedencia, así como en los agentes que intervienen, sus redes comerciales y su estratificación social.

  The aim of this work is to contribute, albeit with limited scope, in a reconstruction of the economic and business realities in the city of Murcia during the second half of the seventeenth century. To carry out this research, an unusual source has been used: the visitas –inspections of the stores done in situ- made in 1691 and 1692 by the judge of the contraband Antonio de Torres Prieto in the commercial establishments of the city and the registration of the goods consigned to their merchants at the customs house of Murcia. Through these materials it has been possible to analyze the retail textile manufacturing, with special emphasis on its volume, type and origin, as well as the agents involved, their business networks and social stratification.
