En contraste con la difundida tesis del “milagro griego”, las interpretaciones contemporáneas sobre el origen histórico de la ciencia occidental tienden gradualmente a reconocer el importante rol desempeñado por la tradición científica oriental dentro de este proceso de gestación y consolidación, especialmente en lo referido al desarrollo de una técnica que, no obstante encontrarse infundida de un marcado sentido mitológico y religioso, es recibida y asimilada por parte dc los griegos imprimiéndole el sentido racional propio de la filosofía y la investigación propiamente científica.

Opposite to the spread thesis "Greek miracle", the contemporary interpretations on the occidental historical beggining of the science gradually approaches to recognise the important role performed by the oriental scientific tradition inside this gestation and consolidation process, specially to the one refered to the development of a technique which, in spite of being fill with a marked religious and mythological spirit, is accepted and assimilated by the Greek, imposing it a racional distinctive sense of the cientific philosophy and the investigation.
