Resumen de Video games and museums: making virtual surroundings for didactic content with the Huaca Tantalluc and its contents

Gonzalo Martín Sánchez

  • This abstract explains the process of preparing infographic objects for the virtual elements of a video game concerning the Chimú Empire and elaborated by Madrids Museo de América. Hypermedia installation was realised in collaboration with the Grupo Museum I+D+C Laboratorio de Cultura Digital y Museografía Hipermedia and the Pontificia Universidad Javierana de Cali within the project Explora América II: The Virtual Knowledge of American Collections in the Rooms of the Museum and the Web Diffusion through Virtual and Augmented Reality. This article describes the graphic generation process of the video game, which allows users to interact with pieces exhibited in the Museo de América that together contextualise the geographic area and constructive style of the Chimú Empire. Here, 3-D models have been used to supplement the Museo de Américas exhibit in applications of increased reality.
