  • Resumen
    • An examination of the exposition of the Apocalypse by the 12th-century abbot Joachim of Fiore. In both his expositions and the figurae of his Liber figurarum, Joachim broke with the medieval representational tradition by translating apocalyptic images into a type of cosmic geometry. For Joachim this final drama was the last act in a drama of seven world ages. Because he drew his images and symbols from every age, he interpreted these symbols from the long perspective of history when expounding the Apocalypse. The writer goes on to examine some of Joachim's apocalyptic images.
