Resumen de "The lambe speaketh..." an addendum

Malcolm Jones

  • A discussion of a 16th-century engraving whose inscription begins with “The Lambe speaketh.” Although this print addresses English matters, the plate was apparently engraved in Germany with Latin text in its earliest state. This was in William Turner's book The huntyng of the romyshe vuolfe, published by Egidius van der Erve, possibly in Emden in 1555. The inscriptions seem to have been later re-engraved in English for the popular English market, as another edition of Turner's book was printed in London around 1565. The writer goes on to discuss Turner's work and the context and content of The Lambe speaketh.
