The implementation of Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration degrees in some Spanish faculties represents a significant progress in the training offer available until now; however photography in general, and photo heritage particularly, are not enjoying the desirable presence in degree study plans. Meanwhile, time is pressing and millions of photographs have been lost and will continue to disappear in the coming years if there is not an engagement in policies towards photographic heritage preservation, and non-specialized professionals keep not being trained in this subject.
