  • The palatal cleft is the most common congenital facial deformity that affects one out of 3.000 births. Surgery is the initial treatment followed by orthodontics. In many cases prosthetics are necessary and a palatal obturator has to be applied to those cases wich the oronasal communication persits after surgery.

The implant - prosthetic treatment of an edentulous patient with a secondary oronasal communication to the congenital palatal cleft is presented in this paper.
