  Se trata de indagar, a través de la privilegiada situación que confiere el desempeño de la función judicial, en las conexiones existentes entre el mundo jurídico y el literario.

  Para ello se hace un recorrido por las obras de la Literatura universal que tienen por argumento, más o menos principal, cuestiones relacionadas con la Justicia, la Ley y el Derecho; y por protagonistas a personas vinculadas al mundo judicial. Se otorga un papel destacado a las obras literarias que presentan tramas o escenografías propias del ámbito del Derecho Penal. “Una aproximación a la Justicia a través de la Literatura” permite, en suma, obtener, entre otras, la siguiente conclusión: al jurista no le basta sólo con el conocimiento exhaustivo de las leyes; la lectura de las obras literarias, por ejemplo, le facilita enormemente su labor de intérprete y aplicador del derecho

  The objective of this discourse is an exploration, through the favored situation bestowed by the role of the judicial service, of the existing connections between the legal world and the literary. To achieve this objective, a journey is made through the works of universal literature that have, in their principal arguments, questions related to justice, and whose protagonists are involved in the judicial world. An important role is given to the literary works that present plots or scenes typical of the criminal law field.

  “An understanding of justice through literature” allows the reader, in short, to arrive to the following conclusion: A jurist needs more than just an exhaustive knowledge of law;

  studying literary works, for example, helps enormously in his or her role of interpreting and applying the law.
