    En el presente artículo, nos detendremos, en primer lugar, a estudiar los vestigios que nos han quedado de la cuaresma del año 387 en la iglesia de Milán, sus ritos y prácticas. Ciertamente la fuente de exploración serán tanto los textos agustinianos, como los de su mentor, san Ambrosio. En segundo lugar, estudiaremos la estructura del catecumenado bautismal en Hipona, la diócesis de san Agustín, para poner de manifiesto aquellos elementos que eran comunes a todas las Iglesias, y aquellos que eran propios de la Iglesia del África del norte. Nos detendremos brevemente en el rito de la "traditio symboli" y la "traditio orationis", así como en la formación complementaria que san Agustín daba a los "infantes" o recién bautizados, a lo largo de la semana "in albis"

    The article presents the traces of rituals and celebrations of Lent in the Church of Milan in 387, following the clues that we have in the texts both of St. Augustine and St. Ambrose. It deals also about the structure of the catechumenate in Hippo, St. Augustine's Diocese, underlining those things which were common to other Churches, and those which were exclusive of Northern Africa's Church. It presents briefly the ritual of the "traditio symboli" and the "traditio orationis", and also describes St. Augustine's sermons to the newly baptized or "infants", during the "in albis" Week.
