  • In the article, the author explains why the plans by the 2016 presidential candidates in the U.S. to reenact the Glass-Steagall Act to regulate banks will be a mistake. Also cited are a brief history of the act, which was a part of the Banking Act of 1933, the main purpose of the act to separate banking and commerce, and how the act adversely affected commercial banking as a business model.
