  The influence of parents on the involvement of children to the sport during the sports initiation in football in a small school of Campo Bom-RSAims to assess how parents influence the child during the sports initiation in football, investigate how parents participate in the sporting life of their children, identify the interests of parents in the sporting life of their children and to understand how the child perceives the influence of their parents the sporting life. For this study we used a quantitative approach to cross and descriptive character. The sample consisted of 20 parents, where 11 (55%) were female and 09 (45%) were male, mean age 41.5 ± 9.43 years and their children, all male with mean age 10 ± 0.79 years, linked to a football free program in the city of Campo Bom in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. It has been found that parents influence the child during the sports initiation in football from choosing the sport up they are strong motivators to stay in sports. We conclude that the participation and influence of parents in the sporting life of the child during the sports initiation in soccer is very effective, because we understand that the child perceives this influence arising from his parents very explicitly, the effects these will bring, will depend on how the relationship between parents and children will be addressed and how family behavior is before, during and after the games, to her son, his colleagues and his coach, because all these factors will be interconnected with the child's sport experience.

  Objetivos avaliar como os pais influenciam a criança durante a iniciação esportiva no futebol, investigar como os pais participam da vida esportiva de seus filhos, identificar quais os interesses dos pais na vida esportiva dos seus filhos e compreender como a criança percebe a influência dos seus pais na vida esportiva. Para a realização deste estudo foi utilizada uma abordagem quantitativa de caráter transversal e descritiva. A amostra foi constituída por 20 pais, onde 11 (55%) eram do sexo feminino e 09 (45%) do sexo masculino, com idade média de 41,5 ± 9,43 anos e seus respectivos filhos, todos do sexo masculino com idade média de 10 ± 0,79 anos, vinculados a um programa gratuito de futebol na cidade de Campo Bom no estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Foi constatado que os pais influenciam a criança durante a iniciação esportiva no futebol desde a escolha pelo esporte até sendo fortes motivadores para a permanência na atividade esportiva. Concluímos que a participação e a influência dos pais na vida esportiva da criança durante a iniciação esportiva no futebol é muito efetiva, pois entendemos que o filho percebe esta influência advinda de seus pais de forma bem explícita, os efeitos que estas trarão, dependerão de como essa relação entre pais e filhos será abordada e como será o comportamento da família antes, durante e após os jogos, para com o filho, seus colegas e seu treinador, pois todos estes fatores estarão interligados com a vivência esportiva da criança.
