Although Reverdy has mainly exposed his reflection on Painting in the form of critical and theoretical presentations that are different from Poetry, his poems are not devoid of thematic elements pointing to an interrogation on the transformations of the painting. This concern can be seen in some of the poems and is not unrelated to the formation of an interpretative look that the Cubists, for their part, also conjure up in their devices.

Si la réflexion de Reverdy sur la peinture s’est essentiellement déployée sous la forme d’exposés critiques et théoriques distincts de sa poésie, ses poèmes ne sont pas pour autant dénués d’éléments thématiques indices d’une interrogation sur les transformations de la peinture. Préoccupation lisible dans certains poèmes, et qui n’est pas sans rapport avec la formation d’un regard interprétatif que, de leur côté, les cubistes appellent également dans leurs dispositifs.
