    Barcelona ha sufrido importantes transformaciones urbanas generalmente propulsadas con la excusa de la organización de un macro acontecimiento. Estas incisiones perpetradas en el espacio público se han justificado recientemente con el discurso de la necesidad de introducir Barcelona en el mercado de las Ciudades Globales. En estas ciudades se delega la producción de beneficios en el sector servicios en detrimento del industrial y se favorece la entrada ingente de capital inmobiliario, financiero y turístico. Este texto problematiza el concepto de espacio público y lo contrapone al de multitud con la intención de poner en evidencia las relaciones existentes entre estas transformaciones urbanas promovidas por las instituciones de gobierno y la conceptualización interesada de la noción de espacio público.

    Barcelona has suffered important urban transformations generally propelled with the excuse of the organization of a macro event. They have justified these incisions perpetrated in the public space recently with the speech of the need to put Barcelona into the market of the Global Cities. At these cities the production of benefits at the sector deputises services in prejudice of the industrialist itself and the enormous entrance of real-estate, financial and tourist capital is favoured. In order to lead these transformations he has counted on the economic leg up and politician of public administrations. This paper problematized the concept of public space and contrasts it to the one of multitude with the intention of exposing the existent relations among these urban transformations promoted by the government organisations and the conceptualization been interested in of the notion of public space.
