Entre el deseo y la represión. Grietas del ideal de domesticidad en la obra fotográfica de Grete Stern para la revista Idilio

    En este trabajo de investigación analizaré desde la teoría de arte feminista las críticas al patrón doméstico que realizara la fotógrafa Grete Stern en su serie de foto-montajes aparecidos en la columna «El psicoanálisis le ayudará» de la revista Idilio (1948-1951). En un contexto de conquistas y retrocesos vividos por las mujeres argentinas, Grete Stern evidencia las fracturas en los mandatos establecidos para las mujeres, sus anhelos de realización y sus frustraciones a través de fotomontajes inéditos en el periodo.

    In the light of feminist art theory, this paper analyzes the critique of the ideal if domestic life by the German-born photographer Grete Stern. Her works appeared in the column «The psychoanalysis will help you» of Idilio(1948-51), an Argentinian magazine. In a context of advances and setbacks lived by Argentinian women of that period, Grete Stern exposed –through photomontages, unusual at that time, the cracks in the patterns of domesticity imposed to women as well as their aspirations and frustrations.
