  En este trabajo estudiamos algunos de los más señalados manuales de Historia de la literatura desde 1845 en que se publica el primero de ellos, hasta 1968 en que entra en crisis el modelo lector inventado por el positivismo historicista. También elaboramos un breve relato sobre la canonización de autores y obras, así como sobre la función, los logros, los componentes, las lagunas y las censuras del imaginario cultural ideado por la burguesía española para educar, estética y moralmente, a los estudiantes universitarios y a los de los institutos de secundaria de la España contemporánea.

  In this study we examine some of the most relevant handbooks of the History of Literature from 1845 when the first one was published, to 1968 when the reading model created by positivist historicism went into crisis. We also put together a brief account on the canonization of authors and works, as well as the function, achievements, components, gaps and censorships of this imaginary cultural reader invented by the Spanish bourgeoisie to educate secondary school students aesthetically and morally in contemporary Spain.
