    El presente artículo retoma un trabajo de campo etnográfico sobre la peregrinación a Wirikuta que realizan año con año los indígenas wixaritari o huicholes de los Altos de Jalisco, México. En este trabajo se fotografiaron los lugares sagrados que visitan los xukurikate (peregrinos) de los Centros Ceremoniales de Tseriakame (2011), Tunuwame (2012 y 2013) y San José Werika (2014), localizados en el municipio de Mezquitic. Se discute la sacralidad de estos lugares a partir datos etnográficos y narraciones míticas que se relatan en cada sitio. Como tal, damos cuenta de una íntima e histórica relación del pueblo wixarika con su territorio sagrado

    This article exposes an ethnographic fieldwork about the pilgrimage to Wirikuta, carried out by the wixaritari, also called Huichol Indians, who live in the Sierra Madre Occidental in the Mexican state of Jalisco. We photographed the sacred sites visited by the xukurikate (pilgrims) from the Ceremonial Centers of Tseriakame (2011), Tunuwame (2012 y 2013) and San José Werika (2014), located in the municipality of Mezquitic. We discuss the sacredness of these places with both ethnographic evidence of the rituals that are performed and mythical narratives that are told at each site. Thus, we uncover an intimate and historical relation between the wixarika people and their sacred territory.
