  El artículo presenta un conjunto de ideas útiles para examinar y fomentar, desde la perspectiva de contenido pedagógico, la utilización del podcast como un Recurso Educativo Abierto (REA) específico para complementar el sistema de educación a distancia a nivel universitario y posicionar al alumno como productor de conocimiento. El análisis del podcast y sus variantes como herramientas de información y entretenimiento permite concluir que el podcasting, al compartir información en base a la sindicación de contenidos RSS, devuelve valor agregado a través de un proceso de reutilización, generando nuevos conocimientos proporcionados por el docente, haciendo que el alumno, estudie solo o en grupos.

  The article presents a set of useful ideas to examine and promote, from the perspective of educational content, the use of the podcast as an open educational resource (OER) specific to complement the system of distance education to university level and position the student as a producer of knowledge. Analysis of the podcast and its variants as tools of information and entertainment concludes that podcasting, sharing information on the basis of RSS content syndication, returns added value through a process of reuse, generating new knowledge provided by the teacher, making the student working alone or in groups.
