  • This paper examines the different hypotheses about the meaning of the monetaryinsecription / عال غا ةٌ / ‗l yah. The discovery of a rare Fatimid dinar in Yemen allow tointerprete this inscription precisely as a mark of value guaranteeing the quality of the coin.
