Enfermedad de Paget u osteítis deformante: a propósito de tres casos con afectación craneofacial.

    En este artículo mostramos los casos de tres pacientes con Enfermedad de Paget poliostótica y afectación del maxilar superior en dos de ellos y mandibular en el tercero.

    El diagnóstico fue realizado a partir de una deformidad facial progresiva en el primero y ausencia de cicatrización postextracción en el segundo. En el tercer caso apareció dolor localizado mandibular en un paciente diagnosticado de Paget hacía 17 años, tratándose de una degeneración sarcomatosa en el hueso mandibular pagético. Tras revisar la literatura discutimos los aspectos clínicos, diagnósticos, histopatológicos y terapeúticos.

    Three cases of poliostotic Paget's disease of bone with maxillar and mandibular afectation are reported. Diagnosis was made on the base of a progressive facial asymmetry in the first one and lack of alveolus postextraction healing in the second. In the third one, the acute onset of pain at the mandibular region of a patient diagnosed of Paget's disease 17 years ago was identified as a sarcomatous transformation of pagetic bone.

    Etiopathogenesis, histopathology, clinical features and treatment are discussed and a review of the literature published about Paget's disease of the bone has been made.
