  Los primeros reportes se remontan al siglo V a.C. pero no fue hasta el siglo XIX cuando se identifica como enfermedad específica.   Melanoma is the cutaneous tumor with highest morbidity and mortality. The first reports date back to the V century BC but it was not until the nineteenth century when it is identified as a specific disease. From that point, the first descriptions of the disease and the ways of dissemination were described, along with the surgical treatments that guided the treatment of me- lanoma for decades
