    Partint de punts esparsos del començament de "Lo somni" que mostren diverses possibilitats de lectures, s’analitzen i exposen diferents tècniques de Bernat Metge, pròpies del joc culturalista típic dels primers humanistes, que introduien el lector de manera ordenada i progressiva en el seu text, conjugant fonts clàssiques i cristianes. Havien començat la sistemàtica Petrarca i Boccaccio, i en les lletres catalanes la seguirà estretament l’autor del Curial. El fet d’advertir o no aquestes claus, que donen peu a dobles lectures o a bromes, algunes de les quals ja eren conegudes, fa entendre el text de manera molt diferent; gràcies a aquesta tàctica l’autor podia atacar la vella mentalitat, rient amb els amics, alhora que el text quedava protegit per a una lectura superficial

    Through an analysis of several passages from the beginning of Lo Somni which can be subjected to different interpretations, this article studies different literary techniques utilized by Metge. These techniques are typical of the cultural play engaged in by the first humanists which involve the reader in the work through the use of Classical and Christian sources. These techniques had been first adopted by Petrarch and Boccaccio as well as (within Catalan letters) were closely imitated by the anonymous author of Curial. The text can be understood in different ways depending on whether or not some of these readings, double-entendres and witticisms are brought to the reader’s attention. With this technique in mind, the author could subvert the old mentality while at the same time (no doubt laughing about it in petit-committee with his friends) offering a more proper interpretation of his work through a reading which remained proper enough at least on a simple superficial level.
