Resumen de La Serranía de Ronda: configuración física y articulación del poblamiento

El artículo aborda la evolución de la relación entre unidades fisiográficas de la Serranía de Ronda y organización del poblamiento, centrando esta última en la localización y rango del hábitat y en la articulación político-administrativa. Las fuentes utilizadas han sido bibliográficas y cartográficas. Los resultados más significativos de este análisis son: la disociación entre unidades fisiográficas y límites antrópicos, la inestabilidad de éstos a lo largo del período considerado y la proximidad en el tiempo de la asociación del topónimo Ronda al extenso conjunto montañoso al que hoy denomina.

The article deals with the evolution of the relationship between physiographical units of the Serranía de Ronda region and organization of its settlement. The latter focuses on the location and range of habitat, and the political and administrative structure. The sources used were bibliographical and cartographic. The most significant results of this analysis are: dissociation between physiographical units and anthropic limits, their instability during the whole of the period in question and the short time it took to associate the toponym of Ronda with the extensive mountainous area named after Ronda today.
