Literatura y enfermedad, dos narrativas diferentes de procesos compartidos

    Nos hemos preguntado por las razones que esgrimen los autores para escribir y hemos encon‐ trado que hay tantas como personas, y aún esto puede multiplicarse por cuantas razones encuentre cada uno para hacerlo. No obstante, pueden agruparse en cuatro categorías: a) las que aluden a la creación como acto lúdico, b) las que exploran los aspectos existenciales de la vida, c) las estrictamente profesionales y d) las lenitivas, las que ablandan y sosiegan, las que lamen las heridas y curan. Cuando nos hemos preguntado por la relación entre la enfermedad y la creación, una influencia mutua puede ponerse de manifiesto: la enfermedad está en el ori‐ gen de grandes obras creativas y el propio acto de creación puede revelarse con poderes tera‐ péuticos. Pero la palabra, con frecuencia, es torpe para explicar el dolor. De ahí, la necesidad de la metáfora.

    We asked our self about the arguments of authors to write and we have found that there are as many as people, and the number of reasons anyone finds can multiply even this. However, they can be grouped into four categories: a) those which refer to the creation as a playful act, b) those which explored the existential aspects of life, c) the strictly professional, and d) the soothing, those which soften and soothe, those which lick the wounds and heal. When we asked about the relationship between the disease and the creation, a mutual influence can be revealed: the disease is the source of great creative works and the act of creation itself may prove therapeutic powers. But the word, frequently, is clumsy to explain the pain. Therefore, the need of metaphor.
