This article examines the actions and words of Don Quijote and Sancho Panza through the lens of moral theology, with a specific focus on the condition of the moral act, the physical and moral order, subjective and objective reality, and the principle of double effect. This study is based on the premise that the genius of Don Quijote is its appeal to each reader in a personal, yet equally profound, way. Consequently, the actions and words of Don Quijote and Sancho Panza remind us that our lives are not necessarily about the success we have, but, rather, what motivates us to act the way we do.
