El sarcoma de Ewing es un tumor maligno poco frecuente que ocurre en la infancia y es raro en la mandíbula. Presentamos y discutimos un caso de sarcoma de Ewing mandibular;
se describen los hallazgos clínicos, radiográficos e histológicos.
El tratamiento consistió en quimioterapia preoperatoria, extirpación quirúrgica de la porción mandibular afecta, con reconstrucción posterior y quimioterapia postoperatoria.
Ewing’s sarcoma is an uncommon malignancy that usually occurs in childhood and rarely affects the mandible. A case of Ewing’s sarcoma of the mandible is presented and discussed, with a full clinical, radiological and histological evaluation. Treatment consisted of presurgical chemotherapy, surgical removal of the affected mandibular portion with posterior reconstruction, and postoperative chemotherapy.
