    Vengono corretti alcuni errori riscontrati in Trono (2006) e vengono riportate nuove specie per il Salento ionico, citate in letteratura dal 2006 ad oggi e provenienti da nuove ricerche degli Autori. Di alcune specie, ritenute particolarmente interessanti, vengono forniti ulteriori dettagli.

    [Molluscan fauna from Salento (Trono, 2006): corrigenda and addenda]. The present work is an update of the checklist of the molluscan species present in the southern Ionian sea. The updated checklist includes 780 species of shelled molluscs. Some ecological and taxonomic comments of the new recorded species are reported. The analysis of molluscan fauna collected in 20-years research reveals a frontier-type facies:

    for the most part, the molluscan fauna consists of a pool of widely distributed species, with the addition of many Atlantic and western Mediterranean species (Chauvetia recondita, Raphitoma lineolata, Odostomia improbabilis, ecc.), along with typical eastern Mediterranean species (Rissoa auriformis, Alvania aspera, Mangelia secreta, ecc.). Such a composition is consistent with the pattern of surface currents in Mediterranean and with the large assortment of communities and environments occurring in the area
