Coincidiendo con el refrán quijotesco "La mujer honrada y casada en casa con la pata quebrada", el cineasta Diego Galán titula su documental estrenado en 2013: Con la pata quebrada. En gran parte de este, se muestra con ironía el papel que representaba la mujer en la televisión y en el cine del franquismo: un ideal de mujer abnegada, folclórica, madre y esposa sumisa. No obstante, en esa misma España, existió un grupo de mujeres que no estuvieron en casa "con la pata quebrada", sino que planteaban una visión contrapuesta al que se representaba en la pantalla. Estas mujeres viajaron, conocieron otros mundos y se refugiaron en la escritura proponiendo, discretamente, el cambio del imaginario de la mujer española tradicional.
Coinciding with the quixotic declaration "An honorable and married woman belongs barefoot in the kitchen", in 2013 the director, Diego Galán titled his documentary "Barefoot in the kitchen". A large portion of the film shows, with a great deal of irony, the role of women as represented on television and the big screen during the rule of Franco: The ideal woman being selfless, folkloric, mother and submissive wife. However, in this same Spain, there existed a group of women who rejected this notion of staying home "barefoot and pregnant".
They had a vision in direct opposition to the woman represented on screen. These woman traveled, discovered other worlds and took refuge in their writings.
They discretely proposed a change in the national imaginary of the traditional Spanish woman.
