  • Resumen
    • Tomaso Buzzi, observer and installer of decorative arts in Milan and Venice.

Tomaso Buzzi set up the Italian ceramics sector at the IV Esposizione internazionale di arte decorativa e industriale moderna di Monza in 1930, creating a central hub entitled the "teatro ceramico", which became a celebrative and programmatic staging. The architect also commented on the section in an article published in the magazine "Dedalo", where he hihglighted the most significant manufactured items and production centres, assessing their quality, their capacity for updating styles, their search for a specific identify and their possible industrialization. This scrutiny brought to light in particular Richard-Ginori, followed by Gio Ponti, SCI Laverno, thanks to the work of Guido Andlovitz, and the singular case of Arturo Martini; while also emphasizing his proximity to the thinking of Ponti himself.

He also exhibited some of his own designs in other sections, including furniture, table services, objects, fabrics and laces, along with garden accessories, showing himself to be fully consonant with the intentions of those architects and creatives interested in establishing a contemporary language in traditional craft categories. This harmony also emerged on the occasion of the "Mostra de vetri, ceramiche e merletti d'arte moderna italiana" held at the Amsterdam Municipal Museum in 1931 and some other joint works in Venice.
