La saga epistemológica de la relación arte-ciencia y su impacto en el estatus académico del arte en la universidad

    La relación Arte-Ciencia sigue estando de moda en los foros y publicaciones contemporáneas. Independientemente de los interesantes vericuetos conceptuales en que los científicos-artistas o viceversa, se interconectan y alucinan, dando lugar a novedosos proyectos teóricos y creativos, el asunto está teniendo también connotaciones prácticas impostergables. Una de las más inminentes se refiere al escaso respaldo que aún tienen los especialistas de arte para moverse en el plano académico, especialmente para lograr equivalencias entre sus respectivos quehaceres creativos y sobre todo, interpretativos, respecto a los ya consagrados modos de hacer de docentes e investigadores de las ciencias naturales, exactas y sociales.

    Ante la necesidad de encontrar bases que nos permitan legitimar al profesor artista en el ámbito universitario, es preciso un análisis epistemológico que barra con los prejuicios en las relaciones Arte-Ciencia. Instauradas desde una separación que desfavorece al primero, se constituyen como el obstáculo epistemológico principal para una valoración más justa del “trabajo” artístico, su importancia social y sus complejidades. Se trata de la “naturalización” de uno de los mitos modernos más enraizados: la sobreestimación del saber científico occidental como eje de la cosmovisión moderna. El camino de nuestro análisis se detiene en la arqueología de estas nociones, en la primera fase de construcción de lo moderno, para buscar elementos que muestran la cercanía de ambas esferas y el carácter “construido” e históricamente emplazado de su ubicación social y epistémica. Refundemos el Arte en la universidad, junto a la ciencia, desde su pertinencia gnoseológica, antropológica, política,…. que tanto necesitamos.

    Art-Science relationship is still fashionable at the forums and contemporary publications.

    Regardless of the interesting conceptual topics, where artist-scientists or vice versa, are interconnect and hallucinate, resulting innovative and creative theoretical projects, the issue is also having imperative practical implications. One of the most imminent concerns to the insufficiently support that art specialists still have to move in the academic field, especially in order to achieve equivalence between their respective creative tasks and interpretative labour, in comparison with the already established making ways of teachers and researchers in exact and social sciences.

    Given the requirement for finding bases that allow us to legitimize the artist teacher at the university level, is necessary an epistemological analysis to sweep away prejudices in art-science relations. These relations were established from a separation that damages the art, and they constitute the main epistemological obstacle for a more fair assessment of the artistic "work", its social importance and complexities. As a matter of fact, it is the "naturalization" of one of the more deep-rooted modern myths: the overestimation of western scientific knowledge as axis of the modern worldview. The way of our analysis is to focus on the archaeology of that notion, in the first phase of construction of the modern, for finding items that shown the proximity of art-science areas and the "built" and historic character of their social and epistemic location. Let us found again the art in the university, together with the science, since its epistemological, anthropological, political relevance... which it is necessary.
