A short note about Titian.
An overview of the critical history of a portrait by Titian in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana attempts to identify the sitter -long and authoritatively considered to be the father of the painter- as the Milanese "condottiero" Gian Giacomo Medici. Some brief observations on the relationship between the artist and the city of Milan accompany the proposal.
