  • Resumen
    • "Domenicho dipentore sta in chasa di Lorenso Bechafumi". On some documents at Montepulciano about the cult of Agnese Segni and their reflections in the realm of art (1506-1507).

Annotations from an accounting registry of the Commune of Montepulciano reveal the presence of the young painter "Domenicho" in the city between the summer of 1506 and the spring of 1507. He came in the train of the Sienese "podestà" Lorenzo Beccafumi, in whose home he still resided according to Giorgio Vasari's account. When he was but a young man, Domenico painted an image of Saint Agnese as part of the projects in the palace of the Commune, part of a concerted effort to revitalize the cult of Agnese Segni.
