    En el presente estudio hemos revisado 48 muestras subgingivales periimplantarias de implantes oseointegrados tipo Brånemark con funcionamiento normal. La mitad de ellos se obtuvieron antes de las instrucciones sobre higiene bucal, y el resto un mes después, tras un exhaustivo control del paciente sobre la limpieza en sus fijaciones con instrucciones específicas, intentando comparar la diferente composición de los microorganismos en ambos estadios. Se intenta igualmente discutir la relación de la salud de los tejidos blandos con la evolución de los implantes a largo plazo.

    In the present study we have review 48 subgingival microbial plaque samples from the periimplant sites of osseointegrated Brånemark implants in normal function. Half of them were taken before the hygiene instructions, and the rest one month later after the patient was severely controlled in cleaning the fixtures with specifical instructions, trying to compare the different composition of the microorganism in both stages. We also try to discuss the relation of the soft-tissue health with the long term evolution of the implants.
