    La proyección educativa de la Compañía de Jesús a lo largo de la historia la han hecho merecedora de múltiples estudios. En este marco, la obra de Revuelta González es la única referencia bibliográfica sobre los jesuitas en Morella y germen de esta investigación. Además de en ella, el presente trabajo se basa en documentos inéditos de archivo, cuya finalidad es descubrir los modos educativos de los jesuitas en este municipio a finales del siglo XIX, y analizar las causas de su breve labor docente durante dos años. El testamento de los Colomer-Zurita convirtió a la Compañía en heredera de un legado que debía destinarse a la educación de los morellanos. Sin embargo, su efímera estancia –motivada por el incumplimiento de lo acordado por parte de los albaceas, los ataques anticlericales y la preferencia por una educación más pragmática– impidió el establecimiento completo del modelo educativo de la Ratio Studiorum.

    The Society of Jesus has merited several studies due to its renown and educational outreach throughout history. In this regard, the work of Revuelta González is the only bibliographic reference describing the experiences in Morella School. The archival documentation is the basis of this article, sketch of a much more important research on Jesuit Education in this village at the end of the nineteenth century, and analyses the causes of their brief educational work for two years. The will of the Colomer-Zurita family turned the Company into heir of a legacy that should be used for the education of Morella’s citizens. However, his brief stay, caused by the breach of the agreement by the executors, the anticlerical attacks and the preference for a more pragmatic education, prevented the full establishment of the Ratio Studiorum.
