    En contraste con la escasa, cuando no inexistente, importancia y presencia de la literatura dentro del planteamiento habitual para el aprendizaje de Ciencias Sociales, y en especial en los libros de texto, este artículo busca enfatizar su potencial como recurso educativo para lograr un aprendizaje significativo y expandir el registro literario al que estamos acostumbrados dentro de estas materias, normalmente limitado casi exclusivamente a la novela histórica, mediante la incorporación de otros géneros más cercanos al gusto adolescente pero no por ello menos valiosos desde una perspectiva didáctica.

    In contrast to the lack, if not nonexistence, of any importance and presence of the literature within the usual approach for the learning of social sciences, and especially in textbooks, this article aims to emphasize its potential as an educational resource in order to achieve a significant learning and to expand the literary diversity that we are used to in these subjects, usually limited almost exclusively to the historical novel, by incorporating other genres, closer to the teenagers taste, but not because of this less valuable from a didactic perspective.
