Escoto es conocido como el "Doctor Sutil e Mariano" y el Doctor de la "Inmaculada Concepción" por su decisivo aporte a la teología mariana. Después de una breve introducción histórica, en la que se muestra la relación entre teología y filosofía en el campo mariano y también algunas dificultades interpretativas acerca de la real contribución del Sutil sobre la cuestión de la Inmaculada, se busca, en esta breve colaboración, recoger una bibliografía sobre los estudios escotistas marianos de los últimos quince años en Italia. Se observa de esta manera en los estudios actuales que las dificultades del pasado ha sido superadas y que el pensamiento escotista sigue estando presente en la investigación mariología actual.

Scotus is known as the "Subtle and Marian Doctor", and as the "Doctor of the Immaculate Conception", on account of his decisive contribution to Marian theology. Following a brief historical introduction, which highlights the relationship between philosophy and theology also in the Marian field, as well as some difficulties of interpretation concerning the real contribution of the Subtle Doctor in the matter of the Immaculate Conception, this brief contribution seeks to put together a bibliography of Scotist Mariasn studies in Italy over the past fifteen years. Thereby it is seen that present-day studies have overcome past difficulties, and that Scotist thought continues to be present in contemporary Mariological research.
