    The article brings out the influence of structuralism, especially of Tzvetan Todorov’s thought, on the publishing of the Poetics by Roselyne Dupont-Roc and Jean Lallot, particularly in the way they interpret the value of the object of this small treatise’s key verb, “mimeisthai”, “to imitate”. However, their work cannot merely be reduced to updating the exegesis of the Poetics: it is rather a compromise between tradition and structuralist innovation.

    L’article met en évidence l’influence du structuralisme, en particulier de la pensée de Tzvetan Todorov, sur l’édition de la Poétique par Roselyne Dupont-Roc et Jean Lallot, notamment dans leur interprétation de la valeur du complément d’objet du verbe central de ce petit traité, mimeisthai, « imiter ». Leur travail ne se réduit cependant pas à une simple mise à jour de l’exégèse de la Poétique : il s’agit plutôt d’un compromis entre tradition et innovation structuraliste.
